ANNUAL DINNER 2026
The
Annual Dinner will be held at the Warrant Officers' and Sergeants’ Mess, 4
Queen Elizabeth Driveway, Ottawa, on Thursday, April 23. Cocktails begin at
1815 hrs in the Rockcliffe Lounge (2nd floor); dinner begins at 1915 hrs in
the Dining Room on the same level.
This
year’s guest-of-honour and after-dinner speaker is P. Whitney Lackenbauer,
Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) in the Study of the Canadian North and
Professor in the School for the Study of Canada at Trent University. Dr Lackenbauer specializes in Arctic security, sovereignty
and governance issues, matters on which he has published extensively.
Cost
of the dinner, including wine, is $112.00 per person. Guests are welcome.

sending it to the Secretary, Tom Frisch at tfrisch@sympatico.ca. Mess
regulations require that bookings must be accompanied by payment, which can
be effected by cheque in favour of
The Arctic Circle sent to the Treasurer, David Terroux, 205 - 211 Second
Avenue, Ottawa, ON K1S 2H8, or by Interac e-transfer to treasurer@thearcticcircle.ca.
Please
ensure that your booking is made and recorded by April 15. No refunds will
be possible after that date.
If
you have not yet paid your membership dues for 2026 ($40.00 in-town, $30.00
out-of-town, $20.00 student membership), please include them in your
payment.
Seating
at the dinner, at tables of 8, will be pre-arranged. If you wish to sit
with any particular person(s), please indicate this below. A seating plan
will be posted outside the dining room; please check it before entering.
The
Warrant Officers' and Sergeants’ Mess at 4 Queen Elizabeth Driveway sits
alongside Lisgar Collegiate, facing the Rideau
Canal, south of the Laurier Avenue bridge. Parking is available in front of
the Mess and in adjacent lots and is free; it is also available at City
Hall, a short walk away.
